$3,000 freeroll

author Posted by: admin on date Apr 3rd, 2010 | filed Filed under: Tournaments

this week’s free slot tournament at English Harbour is underway. I just took my first set of spins in the tourney, and i’m sitting in the money for the moment. I’ll have to keep half an eye on how things develop so that i STAY in the money.

The tournament is taking place on the King Solomon’s slot machine that I’ve played before.   There is NO CHARGE to enter the tourney and they are paying out the TOP 490 spots - to a total of $3,000.  Not bad.  I’m sure you can sign up at their sister casino as well . . .

In other slot tourney news, I did end up in the money for my last tournament - and I’m not sure how.  So I have a couple of extra bucks in my account to play with over the Easter Holiday Weekend!  Ok, that’s not really slot machine news.

The March Madness Slot Tournament wrapped up recently, with the top dog taking home $150,000, and four other players taking home $10,000.  In fact, EVERYONE in the tournament received a payout!  Nice :)

I’ve heard of some other big money slot tournament action, and once I go take a look at it I’ll report back probably in the next post!

March Madness Slot Tournament at Superslots

This year things are getting ramped up for the March Madness Slot Tournament at English Harbour and Superslots!  There is a guaranteed $300,000 on the line, with the winner getting a $150,000 check!  That, is a life-changing chunk of change :)

The tournament is taking place on the Magic Monkey slot machine.  I don’t have a review of it (pull out the wet noodles), but it’s a:

  • 20 Payline
  • 5 Reel Video Slot with a
  • Free Spins Feature and a
  • WILD symbol

the tournament takes place during the entire month of March, so there’s still time.  Players start with $50 in credits on the machine, and obviously try to run that total up as high as they can.

There is a $10 entry fee to get into the tournament.  I’m not sure what the slot tournaments cost at land-based casinos, but keep reading . . .

THE PAYOUTS - go down as far as 9,500th place.  considering that there are less than 2,500 players that signed up for the March Madness slot tournament so far, I’d say your chances of making the money are pretty darn good.

the top 500 palyers make $100 or better, with the top 1,000 getting their money back ($10 in prize money at least).  the next 8,500 players get $5, or half your money back.  So, let’s just say it’s not my lucky day, I’m taking a $5 shot at a top prize of $150,000.  that’s cool.

and of course the casinos are also all about welcoming new players - so they have some welcome bonuses lined up for first time depositors.  check out their websites for full details.  I’m a member of English Harbour, but Superslots has the same tournament going, and has a really good welcome bonus in effect.

Free Slots Tournament

author Posted by: admin on date Mar 20th, 2010 | filed Filed under: Tournaments

Well, Spring has sprung in my town.  I’ve already done a host of Saturday chores, and I’m not into college basketball, so I thought I’d reward myself with a little time at the slot machines.   I’m not in the mood for a drive to a casino - it’s not like I have THAT much time to kill!

So, I opened up English Harbour Casino on the computer and took a look at what’s going on there.  As always, they have a slot machine tournament going on.  In fact, there are two that are worth mentioning, even though I only played one so far and I didn’t do well.

Every week for March they have a FREE SLOT TOURNAMENT taking place.  that’s the one I jumped into right away.  this week, from the 15th to the 22nd, the tourney uses the “X Marks the Spot” slot game.  I’m a little spurprised that I didn’t already review that game.  Oh well, something for me to do next time I guess.

ANYWAY - you’ll find the tournaments, even the FREE ones where you can win cash if you’re lucky, under the REAL MONEY games at the casino.  that’s because if you win, you need to have a real money account for them to put the money into.  makes sense if you think about it.

TOP PRIZE - in this week’s free slots tournament is $500.  not life-changing, but what do you want for nothing?  I made a mistake and jumped right into the action without looking to see haw far down the payouts went.

They’re paying the TOP 1,290 finishers.  Goofy me, I decide since I haven’t played in a slots tourney for so long, I’m going BIG or going home!  so i set the machine at a high coin denomination and hoped for a winner out of the gate.  I got some, but not enough to satisfy me.  and so I worked my credits down to nothing.

Perhaps I should have taken my time and tried to build up the credits little by little, being satisafied with a money finish.  oh well.

Anyway, that’s how I did in my first free slots tournament since when, Christmas?  That’s not the big news at the casino though, the big news is that they’re running a big money guaranteed March Madness Tournament.  but, that’s for another post :)

part three Summer Slots

author Posted by: admin on date Aug 11th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Tournaments

Thre third and final session of the big Summer Slots series at Superslots (and English Harbour) is underway.

during the month of August, players will be taking spins in a tournament that makes use of the “Reel Deel” slot machine at the casinos.  there is $200,000 in prize money up for grabs, and whoever is at the top of the leaderboard when the tournament finishes at the end of August will take home $50,000!

Super Slots Online Casino - The Home of Online Slots

that’s kindof news, but these days there are some pretty high cash tournaments going on at a couple of casinos, so it’s not completely earth-shattering.  what is great, and i may never get tired of smiling at this, is that the way this big name slots tournament is set up, just about everyone should win.

how?

here’s a snapshot of the tourney board from this afternoon, 10 days into the big event.  there are 2008 players who paid the entry fee of $10 to take thier spins.

the top 1,500 places pay more than $10.  the top 8,000 places pay at least $10.

well, it’s looking like out of those 2,008 players, 1,500 (or 75% of them!) have made $15 in profit.

THAT is what’s so amazing about the Summer Slots Series at Superslots and English Harbour.

and yes, both casinos have inviting sign up bonuses for new players.  you can visit their websites to see what the current bonuses are.  in fact, you should probably do that soon because this is the final leg in the big Summer Slots series and it all comes to a close at the end of the month!

The Right Prize

you know how i usually “stumble” into English Harbour (and i know some of you like the sister site - Superslots because you want the same games, but more bonuses).  this time, i knew it was happening.  the summer is bringing a summer-long slots tournament with $700,000 in prize money!

Super Slots Online Casino - The Home of Online Slots

that, is a ton of cash.  and of course it won’t all go to one person, but i’m up for just a share of it.  i don’t need the whole thing.  enough to take care of a house payment and put some lobsters on the grill would do me just fine ;)

So . . . the “Summer Slots Series” comes in four parts.  The first part is a 20 day (June 10th – June 30th) tournament that takes place on the Prize is Right slot machine.  I have that one downloaded already, and have spent some time playing it, but i thought it would be a good time to write a review on it since it is the key to the cash during Part One of this Summer Slots Series.

the Right Prize is a video style slot that is loosely themed on a popular game show.  the features of the machine include . . .

SCATTER SYMBOLS - which isn’t really a surprise on a video slot.  the fun thing about them though is that they are the key to unlcoking a FREE SPINS session.  you’ll need to land three or more scatter symbols.  if you land two scatters, you’ll get credit for a winning combination.

WILD SYMBOL - there is a wild symbol on the reels.  it doesn’t act like a doubling wild, but it does fill in the blanks so to speak to help create winning combinations.

BONUS SYMBOL - is the fast track to unlocking a “pick’em” style bonus game.  You have the opportunity to choose a prize that is either displayed, or one hidden behind a door, depending on which version of the bonus game you unlock.

it doesn’t really matter though, the idea is the same.  pick a prize from the screen, and you’ll find out what the value of that prize is in slot credits.  so i may pick the grandfather clock and find out it’s worth $25.  i can then try to upgrade my prize by returning it and picking a different prize from the screen.

the trick is, i may pick a prize of lesser value.  so, you really want to think about how much you “ought” to win by unlcoking the bonus game, and be willing to settle for a fair prize amount.  of course if you pick an inexpensive prize the first time out, there’s no reason to hold on to it when there’s a lot better to be had.

once you’ve chosen a prize that you’re satisfied with, keep it and return to the slot game.  it’s that simple!

Here’s a table of the Payouts for the Slot Tournament:

  1st $50,000
  2nd $15,000
  3rd $5,000
  4th-5th $2,500
  6th-10th $1,000
  11th-20th $500
  21st-50th $250
  51st-100th $100
  101st-200th $50
  201st-1,500th $25
  1501st-8,000th $10

I’m figuring that i’m probably going to be lucky enough to land somewhere in the Top 8,000!! :)  The Summer Slots series is not a free event.  there is an entry fee, of $10.  but, considering they pay out the top 8,000 players a minimum of $10, it looks like it will be an event where everyone gets their money back.  so it’s about as close to being a freeroll as you can get!

if you’re playing at English Harbour for the Summer Slots Series, you might run into me - on the leaderboard ;)

Solomon’s Mines

author Posted by: admin on date Jun 4th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Tournaments, Vegas Technology

I found a chance to do some slot playing this afternoon, and out of habit i opened up English Harbour to see what was going on.  And this is what i found . . .

the freeroll of the day was being held on the Solomons Mines slot machine.  the fun part, there was just under $4,000 up for grabs.  I think they were paying the top several hundred spots, so it really looked like the very top winners would be getting a decent prize, and lots (and lots) of other players would be landing a little something.

Click Here to Play at English Harbour Casino - Get up to $800 Free

i was ok with a little something, so i signed up - and paid my $0 entrance fee.

i didn’t already have that slot machine loaded onto my computer, so i had to back out of the tournament lobby and go the “regular” lobby of the casino to download it.  it’s not that much of a bother, but i figure if i keep mentioning it, sooner or later they’ll change that!! (probably wishful thinking).

here’s a little bit about the Solomon’s Mines online slot machine . . .

it’s a five reel video slot game.  and there are 20 paylines!

the coin size (and you can only play one coin per payline, btw) ranges from a penny to $10 per coin.  i’ll probably never be wagering $10 per line, but i’d imagine that should keep even the highest rollers happy.

i set the coin size to $.25 per line, so each spin was taking $5 out of my tournament credits (i started with $100).

the symbols on the reels are the basic “card ranks” - Nine through Ace, plus some treasure hunter themed images.  the big ones to look for are the scatter and the wild symbols.

the scatter symbol is a treasure hunter’s Journal, and like all scatters you don’t have to land them in a row on a payline to get credit for a winning combination.

the WILD symbol is the “penelope” symbol.  It only appears on the middle reels (two, three and four), and will substitute for anything but a scatter symbol.

the Solomon’s Mines slot is a straight forward machine.  there is no bonus game, no free spins session, no doubling wild.  there are a lot of paylines though, so you’ll be spending a lot of time racking up winners on the main screen instead of watching the bankroll drop hoping to unlock the big hit on the bonus game.

it’s a neat game.  pretty basic.  to be honest, i’d probably play other slots at the casino, but this was the tournament game, and i had a good time playing it.  i never got high enough to be in the money in the tournament, but i always had hope, lol!

March Madness Freeroll Slots Tournament

author Posted by: admin on date Mar 12th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Tournaments

hey everyone!  i know that it has been the longest time since my last update.  rest assured that things have been keeping me busy, and i just haven’t had the time or money to be playing the slots.  and that’s ok.  gambling is a fun past time, when you have the money to gamble with.  and now, thankfully, i’m all caught up and able to do some playing.

so, the first place i head back to is one of my favorite online casinos, English Harbour.  they’ve been running freeroll and buy-in slot tournaments, and that’s what I was in the mood for.  the latest promotion from them is their  . . .

there is $250,000 in prize money up for grabs, AND there are ways to enter into the tournament for FREE.

so, off i went to EH and took my chances on the 20,000 Leagues machine.  unfortunately, i didn’t manage to freeroll my way in.  but, there is a chance to buy right into the tourney, for a whopping $10.  lol.

not too bad, a chance at $250,000 in prizes for a tenspot.  i think that’s why i like online casinos :)

anyway, i wanted to get a note up to let everyone who has been stopping in from time to time know that i’m doing fine, the slots are still spinning online, and it looks like the long cold winter is behind us!!!

Christmas Slots Tournament

author Posted by: admin on date Dec 22nd, 2008 | filed Filed under: Tournaments

Yes, there are plenty of Slot Tournaments taking place over the Christmas holidays this year.  One of them is the big $100,000 Holiday Feast tourney on the Cleopatra’s Pyramid machine. It’s taking place at English Harbour, by the way.

This tournament actually already started, it just that I’ve been busy finishing up my Christmas shopping, so I haven’t had time to settle into any slots action until just now.  It began on the 17th, but it runs until the 4th of January, so there’s more than enough time left in the event to make a big impact.

The top prize is $15,000.   That’s a nice prize to start the new year.  But, better than that is the fact that they’re paying out the top 9,400 places.  So basically, everyone’s a winner.

Right now I’m looking at the tournament lobby for the Holiday Feast tourney, and there are 1,267 player who have signed up and taken their spins on the reels.  Think about it, if they’re paying the top 9,400, it’s looking like your chances of landing in the prize money are pretty good!

It’s a $10 entry fee to get into the tourney.  That’s for me at least, if you are new to the casino, English Harbour will throw in a free entry into the tourney if you deposit between today and Sunday, the 28th.

Now, that’s the “Big” slot tourney going on at EH.  There are also a series of smaller tourneys as well . . .

They’re running a set of freerolls - with a twist.  Firt off, the games are taking place on the new $5 Million Touchdown slot game.  And yes, they are free to enter.  The twist?

The prize is not awarded to the player in first place.  Instead, the money is going to go to the player that finishes in the same place as the day on the calendar.  For instance, today is the 23rd of December.  So, in today’s freeroll (which runs from noon until midnight) the player that finishes in 23rd place wins the prize.

That, is different.

Speaking of different, when I visited the English Harbour website, I noticed that the welcome bonuses were out of line.  Instead of the $450 max that they’ve been offering to new players for months and months, it says that the current max is 100% of your first four deposits, for a grand total of $800.

Heh, and to think that when I signed up the max was $35.  How things change.

Giant Thanksgiving Turkey (Slots Tournament)

author Posted by: admin on date Nov 18th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Tournaments, Vegas Technology

hey, don’t look at me, that’s what they’re calling the big Thanksgiving Slots Tournament taking place at English Harbour and Superslots.

Click Here To Play Online Slots at Super Slots Online Casino

Nov. 16th - Nov. 30th - $100,000 Slots Tournament

Well, the votes must be in. Players had a chance to choose which slot machine they wanted this tournament to be played on by voting earlier in the month.  I know that I cast my ballot.

Players chose the Reel Deal slot machine as the game they’d like to play for the course of the tournament.  Here are the numbers on the event:

Start Date: November 16th, 2008

Ends: November 30th at midnight

so, the tournament is currently underway!

There is a guaranteed $100,000 prize pool - which is HUGE.  This is not a freeroll, so there’s an entry fee to get into the tournament.  Each player involved is paying a $10 entry fee.

I have the tournament lobby open right now, and there are some interesting things going on.  Right now, there’s a total of 554 players in the tournament.  The “Giant Thanksgiving Turkey” tournament pays the top 3,875 places. Yep - 3,875 places.

So, everyone so far has paid $10, but they’re all getting their money back in prize money.  And so are the next several thousand contestants!!

So, even though it’s not really a freeroll, it sure acts like one!

The gameplay is simple.  Everyone starts with a $500 balance on the Reel Deal slot machine.  Play until you lose it, or rack up as many credits as you want.

If you lose your 500 credits, you are temporarily knocked out of the tournament.  But, you can “rebuy”, which means for another $10 you can have another 500 credits and try again.  So it’s not as though one bad run on a cold machine dooms you to failure in the event.

If you decide you’d like to enter, there are still machines open at either English Harbour or SuperSlots.
