Rockin Robin Slot

author Posted by: admin on date May 20th, 2010 | filed Filed under: Vegas Technology

so, I go to English Harbour today and I see this . . .

which is a pop up that says they’ll give me a free tournament entry if I confirm my email address.  Sounds like a plan to me.  I’ll let you know how it works out.

This week the freeroll slot tournament at English Harbour is on the Rockin Robin slot machine.  And that is a game I’ve never played before, so I thought I’d share a little bit about it.

I’ve been placing in the slot tourneys that I’ve tried lately, and so I’m building up a little bit of a bankroll out of thin air.  Yay for me.  And by a little, I mean I could treat myself to a banana split at Dairy Queen, but I couldn’t pay the electric bill with it.  Still, it’s nice to have a little slots cash to work with :)

this tournament pays the first roughly 500 places, and has No Entry Fee!  and, I have some free time at lunch today, so it’s a deal!

I never played the game before, so I had to download it before I could start.  that took about 8 seconds, and thankfully you don’t need to back out of the tournament lobby to download the game anymore.  two thumbs up for whoever works at English Harbour and reads my blog!

here’s a screenshot of the rockin robin game . . .

It’s got 25 paylines, and the min bet is a penny.  So, I can drag out the action if I’m starting with $50, which I am.  the “Rockin Robin” slot symbol is the Wild symbol on the machine.  they refer to it as “the substitute” symbol on the paytable.

The other symbol to mention is the “Tree Symbol” which is the Scatter symbol.  it also unlocks the bonus game, if you can land three or more of them.  actually, the “bonus game” is a set of respins!

I bumped up the coin size to a nickel per line, and somewhere around the $20 mark i landed four trees.  that unlocked a set of 10 bonus spins for me.  they provided enough winners to move me up into “the money” in the tournament standings.  so, I decided to stop where I am and check back later in the week to see if my score holds up!

now, i’ll wait for that email with my “free tournament entry” info . . .

X Marks the Spot

While I’m writing this, there’s still time to get into the Free Slot Tournament at Superslots that’s taking place on the “X Marks the Spot” slot mchine they have. Of course if you’re catching this post some time after March 29, 2010, it’s still a good review of the X Marks the Spot slot machine.

The game is found under the “5 Reel Bonus” slot category at the casino.  As expected, it is a five reel video style slot game.

There are 20 different paylines on this Island Treasure Adventure themed slot.  So, there are a lot of ways to win.  And all of them go from left to right across the reels.  Well, except for the SCATTER SYMBOL.

The Cannon is the SCATTER Symbol, and if you land three or more of these anywhere on the screen you have a winner!  Not only do you receive credits for landing the symbols, the Scatter is also the key to unlocking the FREE SPINS SESSION.

You’ll receive 15 Free Spins, where the value of any winning combination that you land is TRIPLED!  So, finding those cannons can be very rewarding!

The Free Spins Feature is only one of the things that make the X Marks the Spot slot exciting.  The game also has a BONUS ROUND.  You unlock that by landing the Bonus Symbol, which appears on reels 1, 3, and 5.  During the bonus round you’ll play a game with a pirate that you command.  You send him off to seek treasure at different points on a map, and you’re guaranteed to find something!

So basically, the X Marks The Spot slot machine is a treasure hunting pirate themed slot, which is a perfect theme for a slot. It’s not as though we play the game and not think about unlocking some treasure for ourselves! The Free Spins round and the Bonus Game add some excitement to the machine. And of course the 20 paylines keep the winning combintations coming.

Magic Monkey Slot

author Posted by: admin on date Mar 23rd, 2010 | filed Filed under: Vegas Technology

so this is the slot machine for the big March Madness slots tournament at the Vegas Tech casinos (English Harbour, Superslots, Caribbean Gold).

Caribbean Gold Casino - Secure Online Casino Games
Caribbean Gold Online Casino

The Magic Monkey machine is a 25 Payline Video Slot.  And yes, 25 Paylines is a LOT.

You can wager as little as a Penny per payline, so this is another example of a Penny slot machine that you can find on the internet!  Of course you can wager more, up to $10 per payline if you have the bankroll and the inclination.

There are a couple of symbols on the Magic Monkey game that are more importnat than the others.  The first is the Banana Symbol, which is the key to unlocking a Free Spins cycle.

It’s also a Scatter Symbol, so you don’t have to land the Bananas in a row.  They can appear anywhere on the reels of the slot machine, and still create a winning combination.  The Free Spins Cycle is unlocked by landing Three or More Banana Symbols, and lasts for 20 spins!

Plus - Free Spins can be retriggered by landing three or more Bananas during a Free Spin Cycle.  It’s the kind of good fortune that can bring even more good fortune.  So, be on the lookout for those Bananas!

The other symbol worth mentioning is the Magic Monkey Symbol.  His symbol is a WILD symbol, and helps complete winning combintations on the different paylines.

March Madness Tournament Update - as far as the big tournament is going, the person in the lead took their $50 in starting credits and ran them up to a total of $20,450 credits.  That looks like it will be good for $150,000 in REAL MONEY.

And, there are still less than 2,800 players signed up, so everyone is making the money so far.  With only one week to go in the tournament, it looks like it will stay that way too!

Funky Chicken

author Posted by: admin on date Aug 11th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Vegas Technology

i was on my way to check out the happenings in the third leg of the Summer Slots series at English Harbour (it’s also running at Superslots), and decided to check in on free slots tournament of the day.

today they are running a $0 entry fee tournament on the Funky Chicken slot machine.  and, since i have a little time to play with, and i’ve never played the Funky Chicken slot before, i thought i’d sit down, take some spins and a do a review of the game.

here’s what the reels look like . . .

you can see that the theme of the slot game is a cartoony farm setting.  the symbols on the reels are the basic “Ace through Ten” plus a half dozen characters taken from right off the farm.  before i get into those though, i need to mention that this 5 REEL slot game has a whopping 25 PAYLINES!

that bears repeating - 25 PAYLINES are available on the Funky chicken slot game.  and you can wager anywhere from a penny a line (which means each spin costs a quarter) up to $10 on each payline you activate.  i’m not sure exactly how many people are wagering $250 on each spin, but i suppose there are some pretty big bankrolls out there.

in order to land a winning combination you’ll probably need to line up three symbols in a row.  there are only two symbols that start paying out for “two in a row”, and they are the farmer and the house.  so, that’s how you can stick sooooo many paylines on a slot machine and still not be landing winners every single spin.

FEATURES - the Scarecrow symbol is the WILD symbol on the game.  he’ll help fill in the blanks on any potential winning combination.

the FUNKY CHICKEN is the other symbol of note on the machine.  he acts as both a scatter symbol, and is the key to unlocking the  free spins session.

so, if you land two funky Chicken symbols you’ll start earning payouts.  land three or more and you’ve unlocked the Free Spins!

during my time at the machine i managed to unlock a free spins session, and rose to as high as 300th place in the tournament.  but, that was as high as i got - so no money finishes today.

Summer Slots Part 1: the Right Prize

author Posted by: admin on date Jun 28th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Vegas Technology

well, the month of June isn’t completely over, but we’re getting very, very close to flipping the calendar.  that means that the first round of the big “Summer Slots” series at English Harbour and Superslots is coming to a close.

So, i decided to check up on things tonight and see how it looks like it is going to wrap up.

just as a reminder, the first part of the slots tournament has $100,000 in prize money up for grabs.  it takes place during the month of june (the entire month) on the “Right Prize slot machine“.

here’s a screenshot of the “vitals” of the tournament.  pay special attention to the number of players, because that shows how easy it is to make the money in Part One of the Summer Slots tournament at English Harbour.

so, there are 2,139 players in the tournament.  how hard is it to win?  well, there are well over 7,500 places paid out.  so it looks like everyone is a winner!  i knew it though - well, i had a strong feeling that everyone would at least get their money back.

if you take a look at the next screenshot - the places paid snapshot - you can see that about 3 out of 4 players made a profit.  1,500 players earn $25 or more, while paying a $10 entry fee.

that makes the Summer Slots tournament at English Harbour about the best deal in online slots that i know about.

the following people are in position to land the b ig money prizes, with oliver799 looking at a payday of $50,000 by the end of the week if his score holds up as the # 1 slot player in the tournament.

i’m not in the big money this time around :(  but, another round is starting soon - phase 2 of the Summer Slots tournament will be here in the middle of the week, and i’ll probably be trying my luck again in the next phase.

The Right Prize

you know how i usually “stumble” into English Harbour (and i know some of you like the sister site - Superslots because you want the same games, but more bonuses).  this time, i knew it was happening.  the summer is bringing a summer-long slots tournament with $700,000 in prize money!

Super Slots Online Casino - The Home of Online Slots

that, is a ton of cash.  and of course it won’t all go to one person, but i’m up for just a share of it.  i don’t need the whole thing.  enough to take care of a house payment and put some lobsters on the grill would do me just fine ;)

So . . . the “Summer Slots Series” comes in four parts.  The first part is a 20 day (June 10th – June 30th) tournament that takes place on the Prize is Right slot machine.  I have that one downloaded already, and have spent some time playing it, but i thought it would be a good time to write a review on it since it is the key to the cash during Part One of this Summer Slots Series.

the Right Prize is a video style slot that is loosely themed on a popular game show.  the features of the machine include . . .

SCATTER SYMBOLS - which isn’t really a surprise on a video slot.  the fun thing about them though is that they are the key to unlcoking a FREE SPINS session.  you’ll need to land three or more scatter symbols.  if you land two scatters, you’ll get credit for a winning combination.

WILD SYMBOL - there is a wild symbol on the reels.  it doesn’t act like a doubling wild, but it does fill in the blanks so to speak to help create winning combinations.

BONUS SYMBOL - is the fast track to unlocking a “pick’em” style bonus game.  You have the opportunity to choose a prize that is either displayed, or one hidden behind a door, depending on which version of the bonus game you unlock.

it doesn’t really matter though, the idea is the same.  pick a prize from the screen, and you’ll find out what the value of that prize is in slot credits.  so i may pick the grandfather clock and find out it’s worth $25.  i can then try to upgrade my prize by returning it and picking a different prize from the screen.

the trick is, i may pick a prize of lesser value.  so, you really want to think about how much you “ought” to win by unlcoking the bonus game, and be willing to settle for a fair prize amount.  of course if you pick an inexpensive prize the first time out, there’s no reason to hold on to it when there’s a lot better to be had.

once you’ve chosen a prize that you’re satisfied with, keep it and return to the slot game.  it’s that simple!

Here’s a table of the Payouts for the Slot Tournament:

  1st $50,000
  2nd $15,000
  3rd $5,000
  4th-5th $2,500
  6th-10th $1,000
  11th-20th $500
  21st-50th $250
  51st-100th $100
  101st-200th $50
  201st-1,500th $25
  1501st-8,000th $10

I’m figuring that i’m probably going to be lucky enough to land somewhere in the Top 8,000!! :)  The Summer Slots series is not a free event.  there is an entry fee, of $10.  but, considering they pay out the top 8,000 players a minimum of $10, it looks like it will be an event where everyone gets their money back.  so it’s about as close to being a freeroll as you can get!

if you’re playing at English Harbour for the Summer Slots Series, you might run into me - on the leaderboard ;)

Solomon’s Mines

author Posted by: admin on date Jun 4th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Tournaments, Vegas Technology

I found a chance to do some slot playing this afternoon, and out of habit i opened up English Harbour to see what was going on.  And this is what i found . . .

the freeroll of the day was being held on the Solomons Mines slot machine.  the fun part, there was just under $4,000 up for grabs.  I think they were paying the top several hundred spots, so it really looked like the very top winners would be getting a decent prize, and lots (and lots) of other players would be landing a little something.

Click Here to Play at English Harbour Casino - Get up to $800 Free

i was ok with a little something, so i signed up - and paid my $0 entrance fee.

i didn’t already have that slot machine loaded onto my computer, so i had to back out of the tournament lobby and go the “regular” lobby of the casino to download it.  it’s not that much of a bother, but i figure if i keep mentioning it, sooner or later they’ll change that!! (probably wishful thinking).

here’s a little bit about the Solomon’s Mines online slot machine . . .

it’s a five reel video slot game.  and there are 20 paylines!

the coin size (and you can only play one coin per payline, btw) ranges from a penny to $10 per coin.  i’ll probably never be wagering $10 per line, but i’d imagine that should keep even the highest rollers happy.

i set the coin size to $.25 per line, so each spin was taking $5 out of my tournament credits (i started with $100).

the symbols on the reels are the basic “card ranks” - Nine through Ace, plus some treasure hunter themed images.  the big ones to look for are the scatter and the wild symbols.

the scatter symbol is a treasure hunter’s Journal, and like all scatters you don’t have to land them in a row on a payline to get credit for a winning combination.

the WILD symbol is the “penelope” symbol.  It only appears on the middle reels (two, three and four), and will substitute for anything but a scatter symbol.

the Solomon’s Mines slot is a straight forward machine.  there is no bonus game, no free spins session, no doubling wild.  there are a lot of paylines though, so you’ll be spending a lot of time racking up winners on the main screen instead of watching the bankroll drop hoping to unlock the big hit on the bonus game.

it’s a neat game.  pretty basic.  to be honest, i’d probably play other slots at the casino, but this was the tournament game, and i had a good time playing it.  i never got high enough to be in the money in the tournament, but i always had hope, lol!

Fat Cat Video Slot

author Posted by: admin on date Apr 10th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Vegas Technology

hey everyone!  today i had some time because Easter vacation is upon us, and i wanted to see if there was any Easter slot machine tournament action taking place.  so, per usual, i head on over to English Harbour.

well, it turns out that there really wasn’t anything happening that had an Easter theme to it.  other than the bonus i just listed, but i already have money in my player account there, so i won’t be taking advantage of that this time.

of course, there is some slot machine tournament action taking place.  one of the tournaments is using the Fat Cat slot machine.  so, i thought after playing it for a while, i’d put up a review of the slot.

Fat Cat Video Slot Machine

the slot is a five reel, video slot game.  and, like most of the video slots, there are plenty of paylines.  in fact, there are 20 PAYLINES.  you can activate all twenty if you’d like, or you can choose to just activate a few of them.

of course you need to wager a coin on each line in order to activate it.  the game only let’s you wager one coin per line, so you won’t ba able to say, set the coin size at a nickel and then wager 3 coins per line.

speaking of coin size, you can change the coins from one penny up to $5 per coin, which at 20 paylines means wagering $100 on each spin.  of course that’s beyond my bankroll for playing for cash.  but, it’s nice that the machine let’s you “swing deep” like that in a tournament.

the machine has some basic symbols on the reels (”card ranks” of 9 through King), and a few more powerful symbols.  the WILD symbol is the FAT CAT symbol.  it’ll substitute for all but the scatter symbol.

the Scatter Symbol is the Dollar Sign, and if you land three or more of them you’ll unlock the BONUS GAME.

I’m not sure how to describe the bonus game.  it’s a screen with 8 money bags, and you pick bags to reveal the prize behind them (in them?).  but when i unlocked it, i simply chose one bag at a time until i picked  them all.  so it’s not like there was some game-stopper symbol that i was trying to avoid.  or as if i could only choose three and was hoping to find the ones with the really big prizes.

i’m ok with it though because when i unlocked the bonus screen it turned into really quite a prize haul, so that was nice.

here are some picts of the machine . . .

and one with the reels . . .

i tend to play Vegas Technology games at English Harbour, but you can play them at Superslots or V.I.P. Slots as well.

Luck o’ the Irish

author Posted by: admin on date Mar 17th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Vegas Technology

i have a bit of time this afternoon, so i went back to English Harbour to take another crack at freerolling into the big March Madness slots tournament.  today the machine that you can qualify on is the “Luck O’ The Irish” slot.

Geek Alert - skip it if you’re not a geek

i think the first thing i want to bring up is that i’m a new computer now - and all that means is that all of the slots i had loaded up on my old ‘puter i have to reload on the new one.  it takes about 5 seconds a slot machine, so it’s not a big deal.  the bummer is that i go to the tournament lobby, register, and click enter, and then the casino tells me that i don’t have the machine loaded onto my computer and i have to go back to the lobby to load it up.

what they should do - are you listening English Harbour, SuperSlots, and the rest of you? - is automatically load the machine for me.  i should hit enter the tournament, the casino should look on my computer to see if i have the machine loaded, if i don’t, it should say “hold on a second, we’re loading the new machine for you, you’ll be playing in a moment” - not “hey, go back to the lobby and get download the slot machine, then come back”.

there.  i’ve said my peace (piece?)

Ending geek rant - Back to normal

The Luck O’ The Irish Slot Machine

the slot itself is a three reel, single payline game.  here’s a screenshot . . .

actually, i took the screenshot right after i unlocked the bonus round, which is a pick’em game.  you can see the bonus icon on the third reel.

playing all three coins activates the third reel, and it gives you a couple of extra ways to win some coins.  so, i was playing all three coins during my time at the Luck O The Irish slot machine from vegas technology!

on that particular bonus round, i ended up choosing to keep a $15 winner, playing $.50 coins.

the pot of gold symbol is the Wild card on the reels, and i ended up using that symbol a couple of times during my play session to complete some winning combinations.

and of course, it being St. Patrick’s Day, the Luck O The Irish slot is the perfect choice for English Harbour to use for freerolling into the March Madness tournament!

in the end, i tried, but i only got as high as 232nd place.  and that won’t cut it.  but for anyone else who is trying to qualify for teh big slots tourney at EH, i hope that the Luck of the Irish is with YOU today!!

Giant Thanksgiving Turkey (Slots Tournament)

author Posted by: admin on date Nov 18th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Tournaments, Vegas Technology

hey, don’t look at me, that’s what they’re calling the big Thanksgiving Slots Tournament taking place at English Harbour and Superslots.

Click Here To Play Online Slots at Super Slots Online Casino

Nov. 16th - Nov. 30th - $100,000 Slots Tournament

Well, the votes must be in. Players had a chance to choose which slot machine they wanted this tournament to be played on by voting earlier in the month.  I know that I cast my ballot.

Players chose the Reel Deal slot machine as the game they’d like to play for the course of the tournament.  Here are the numbers on the event:

Start Date: November 16th, 2008

Ends: November 30th at midnight

so, the tournament is currently underway!

There is a guaranteed $100,000 prize pool - which is HUGE.  This is not a freeroll, so there’s an entry fee to get into the tournament.  Each player involved is paying a $10 entry fee.

I have the tournament lobby open right now, and there are some interesting things going on.  Right now, there’s a total of 554 players in the tournament.  The “Giant Thanksgiving Turkey” tournament pays the top 3,875 places. Yep - 3,875 places.

So, everyone so far has paid $10, but they’re all getting their money back in prize money.  And so are the next several thousand contestants!!

So, even though it’s not really a freeroll, it sure acts like one!

The gameplay is simple.  Everyone starts with a $500 balance on the Reel Deal slot machine.  Play until you lose it, or rack up as many credits as you want.

If you lose your 500 credits, you are temporarily knocked out of the tournament.  But, you can “rebuy”, which means for another $10 you can have another 500 credits and try again.  So it’s not as though one bad run on a cold machine dooms you to failure in the event.

If you decide you’d like to enter, there are still machines open at either English Harbour or SuperSlots.
