Sir Winsalot and First Past the Post

September is here, and so is another round of new slot machine releases from the folks at Microgaming. This month there are two new slots that will be added to the already huge microgaming stable of slot machines.

They are . . .

First Past the Post - a horse-racing themed slot. The “First Past the Post” machine is a “Video” style slot, with five reels, and healthy 25 paylines.

Like most modern slots, there is a Wild Symbol (the Horse symbol). And, like many video style slot machines, there is a Scatter Symbol, which in this case, is a Trophy Cup.

Players can form a winning combination by landing 2 or more Scatter symbols on any reels. They do not have to be found on the same payline (although when there’s 25 paylines, it’s difficult to avoid landing on a payline).

The game has a Free Spins round that can be unlocked. Landing the Wild Horse symbol on reels 2, 3, and 4 unlocks a round of free spins. The length of the round depends on what horse you choose in a bonus game.

There is also a Gamble Feature as part of First Past the Post.

The second slot machine that’s made its way to the Microgaming casinos this month is the Sir Winsalot machine.

The Sir Winsalot machine is also a “video” style slot machine. So, it has five reels, and this particular machine also has twenty paylines.

Where this game goes in a different direction is that it has two bonus games/features built into it. According to the release document (and I’m not really sure if they wanted me to see that or not - it has some intersting stuff in it) there is a bonus game geared towards American slot player tastes, and one geared towards Australian slot player tastes.

The “American” game involves choosing some objects from a table and finding an amount of bonus credits inside, much like the idols in the Tombraider slot.

The “Aussie” games involves unlocking a series of free spins.

I can’t say that i don’t enjoy both of those types of features. So to me, that makes a fine combination of features to find in one game.

Also, the specs document mentions a “Statistical Personality” of the machine. It records the payout rate at 95-96%, with a “Total Hit Frequency” of 41-42%. I like those numbers, so that makes this machine very welcome addition to the Microgaming slots lineup.

You can find both of these machines at . . .
