sure enough, someone hit it

the slotland jackpot that is.  i woke up this morning and thought i’d have a look and maybe a few spins at slotland, and the jackpot was back down to $50,000.  so, i knew someone had hit it while i slept!!

i went to twitter, and here’s the snippet i found . . .

LAST JACKPOT OF $200,111 HIT BY FORGOMO ON MARCH 18.”

i was CLOSE, but no cigar.

$200,000 Jackpot at Slotland!!

author Posted by: admin on date Mar 17th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Uncategorized

well, that’s what the headline should read in the morning.  i snuck in some time to play tonight because usually this thing hits around the $100k mark.  now, it’s almost DOUBLE that, and i have some money kicking around in my Slotland account.

Click here to go to Slotland!

actually, i ran down and back up, and then down, and back up, and then down, and then back up AGAIN while playing their “Slotris” machine. it’s a cross between a slot machine, and tetris. i should review it some time. it’s a one of a kind machine, and you can only play it at slotland.

right now, as i’m typing, the jackpot is $199,756, so in less than $250 of growth, it’ll be at the $200,000 mark.  i’m actually thinking that’ll be a record for the casino, but i’m not totally positive.

i do know that i do NOT expect it to get much higher before someone finally lines up all the right symbols, and takes down a VERY NICE buy a car/pay off the house/college is paid for/let’s go to the islands for the summer kind of jackpot!

if you’ve never been to Slotland, it’s the strangest place.  you play right over the web, through your internet explorer, or firefox.  you don’t need to download anything, so it’s even, get this, Wii gaming console friendly.

and, the machines are set really, really loose.  they say 98%, and i believe them.  or at least that’s what my experience has been.  like tonight,  i spent half an hour chasing a jackpot, and i’m basically right where i started.

no jackpot, but i won’t have to deposit on my next visit either.

well, i’ll check in on the morrow, and expect to see either some happy, very recent winner, or a headline that reads that the Slotland progressive Jackpot has reached over the $200,000 mark.  and the good thing, you can win on any machine in the house.  it’s not like the jackpot is tied to one slot.  any slot can be the lucky one, so i can play whatever slot i like most. :)

Luck o’ the Irish

author Posted by: admin on date Mar 17th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Vegas Technology

i have a bit of time this afternoon, so i went back to English Harbour to take another crack at freerolling into the big March Madness slots tournament.  today the machine that you can qualify on is the “Luck O’ The Irish” slot.

Geek Alert - skip it if you’re not a geek

i think the first thing i want to bring up is that i’m a new computer now - and all that means is that all of the slots i had loaded up on my old ‘puter i have to reload on the new one.  it takes about 5 seconds a slot machine, so it’s not a big deal.  the bummer is that i go to the tournament lobby, register, and click enter, and then the casino tells me that i don’t have the machine loaded onto my computer and i have to go back to the lobby to load it up.

what they should do - are you listening English Harbour, SuperSlots, and the rest of you? - is automatically load the machine for me.  i should hit enter the tournament, the casino should look on my computer to see if i have the machine loaded, if i don’t, it should say “hold on a second, we’re loading the new machine for you, you’ll be playing in a moment” - not “hey, go back to the lobby and get download the slot machine, then come back”.

there.  i’ve said my peace (piece?)

Ending geek rant - Back to normal

The Luck O’ The Irish Slot Machine

the slot itself is a three reel, single payline game.  here’s a screenshot . . .

actually, i took the screenshot right after i unlocked the bonus round, which is a pick’em game.  you can see the bonus icon on the third reel.

playing all three coins activates the third reel, and it gives you a couple of extra ways to win some coins.  so, i was playing all three coins during my time at the Luck O The Irish slot machine from vegas technology!

on that particular bonus round, i ended up choosing to keep a $15 winner, playing $.50 coins.

the pot of gold symbol is the Wild card on the reels, and i ended up using that symbol a couple of times during my play session to complete some winning combinations.

and of course, it being St. Patrick’s Day, the Luck O The Irish slot is the perfect choice for English Harbour to use for freerolling into the March Madness tournament!

in the end, i tried, but i only got as high as 232nd place.  and that won’t cut it.  but for anyone else who is trying to qualify for teh big slots tourney at EH, i hope that the Luck of the Irish is with YOU today!!

March Madness Freeroll Slots Tournament

author Posted by: admin on date Mar 12th, 2009 | filed Filed under: Tournaments

hey everyone!  i know that it has been the longest time since my last update.  rest assured that things have been keeping me busy, and i just haven’t had the time or money to be playing the slots.  and that’s ok.  gambling is a fun past time, when you have the money to gamble with.  and now, thankfully, i’m all caught up and able to do some playing.

so, the first place i head back to is one of my favorite online casinos, English Harbour.  they’ve been running freeroll and buy-in slot tournaments, and that’s what I was in the mood for.  the latest promotion from them is their  . . .

there is $250,000 in prize money up for grabs, AND there are ways to enter into the tournament for FREE.

so, off i went to EH and took my chances on the 20,000 Leagues machine.  unfortunately, i didn’t manage to freeroll my way in.  but, there is a chance to buy right into the tourney, for a whopping $10.  lol.

not too bad, a chance at $250,000 in prizes for a tenspot.  i think that’s why i like online casinos :)

anyway, i wanted to get a note up to let everyone who has been stopping in from time to time know that i’m doing fine, the slots are still spinning online, and it looks like the long cold winter is behind us!!!

Christmas Slots Tournament

author Posted by: admin on date Dec 22nd, 2008 | filed Filed under: Tournaments

Yes, there are plenty of Slot Tournaments taking place over the Christmas holidays this year.  One of them is the big $100,000 Holiday Feast tourney on the Cleopatra’s Pyramid machine. It’s taking place at English Harbour, by the way.

This tournament actually already started, it just that I’ve been busy finishing up my Christmas shopping, so I haven’t had time to settle into any slots action until just now.  It began on the 17th, but it runs until the 4th of January, so there’s more than enough time left in the event to make a big impact.

The top prize is $15,000.   That’s a nice prize to start the new year.  But, better than that is the fact that they’re paying out the top 9,400 places.  So basically, everyone’s a winner.

Right now I’m looking at the tournament lobby for the Holiday Feast tourney, and there are 1,267 player who have signed up and taken their spins on the reels.  Think about it, if they’re paying the top 9,400, it’s looking like your chances of landing in the prize money are pretty good!

It’s a $10 entry fee to get into the tourney.  That’s for me at least, if you are new to the casino, English Harbour will throw in a free entry into the tourney if you deposit between today and Sunday, the 28th.

Now, that’s the “Big” slot tourney going on at EH.  There are also a series of smaller tourneys as well . . .

They’re running a set of freerolls - with a twist.  Firt off, the games are taking place on the new $5 Million Touchdown slot game.  And yes, they are free to enter.  The twist?

The prize is not awarded to the player in first place.  Instead, the money is going to go to the player that finishes in the same place as the day on the calendar.  For instance, today is the 23rd of December.  So, in today’s freeroll (which runs from noon until midnight) the player that finishes in 23rd place wins the prize.

That, is different.

Speaking of different, when I visited the English Harbour website, I noticed that the welcome bonuses were out of line.  Instead of the $450 max that they’ve been offering to new players for months and months, it says that the current max is 100% of your first four deposits, for a grand total of $800.

Heh, and to think that when I signed up the max was $35.  How things change.

Pre-registered Microgaming Account

author Posted by: admin on date Dec 9th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Uncategorized

Christmas is certainly a time when my mailbox gets a workout.  It’s usually mixed bag of holiday greeting from friends and family (those who still put pen to paper, that is), and a steady supply of sales books/offers, etc.

Well, to my surprise I just received a package from a Microgaming casino that I hadn’t heard of before.  The fact that there is a Microgaming that I hadn’t heard of is somewhat odd to begin with.  the fact that I’m on their mailing list is odd as well.

Usually a mailing like this includes a disk of the casino’s games, and this one was no different.  But what WAS Different is the fact that they had already signed me up as a player.  Here’s a quote . . .

“Your account has been pre-registered and credited with $500 free”

Now the $500 was part of one of the popular “$500 for wagering during the first hour” promotions.  But, since Microgaming has essentially shut their doors to new players from the United States, I thought that this was an interesting situation.

Instead of me signing up, they must have pre-qualified me as someone who isn’t from one of the “heavy 11″ states, which come to think of it has expanded to include Kentucky.  At any rate, if you are stateside and don’t have an account at any of the Microgaming casinos, I can’t tell you where or how to get “pre-registered” like this, but I thought I’d post about my surprise experience to let you know that there seem  to be some backdoors open.

Maybe you should consider calling up customer support at a casino that interests you and inquire about them registering you?  Anyway, just a heads up on the happenings in the world of online slots.

My Slot - Customizeable Game

author Posted by: admin on date Dec 2nd, 2008 | filed Filed under: Microgaming

Finally!!  I had this idea for a slot machine years ago, but somewhere between the idea and the computer programming it all fell apart way before it was any fun to play.  but, now the folks at 32 Red Casino (a very reputable UK gaming house that uses Microgaming software) has launched a Personalized Slot Machine!!

The My Slot personalized slot machine lets you add your own symbols to the reels!!

Want to see pictures of family, pets, the biggest trout you’ve ever caught, photos from that vacation of a lifetime, the prettiest rose you ever grew, or anything else on the reels of a slot machine?  Well, now you can have it!!

Select your own sounds, background colour, free spin settings and more.

All your My Slot themes will be based on 5 reels with the following specifications:

MySlot Features Details
Reels 5
Paylines 9
Coins per Payline 5
Max Coins 45
Wild Symbol Yes
Free Spin Trigger Symbol Yes. 15 free spins with a x3 multiplier.
Scatter Symbol Yes
Feature Yes - Free Spins

Online casinos are always adding slot machines to their lineups, but now they’ve broken down a door and are able to let the slot machine players start to the slots.  After all, now you can choose any theme that you want to a video slot, and spin away.

You can build your own online slot machine at . . .

Unfortunately Microgaming casinos are no longer taking new players from the U.S.  and this option isn’t available to US players.

Pigskin Payout

author Posted by: admin on date Nov 28th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Rival Gaming

Thanks to DaVinci’s Gold Casino for the heads up on this new slot machine.

Pigskin Payout is an upcoming release from Rival Gaming.  I kindof had the news leaked to me a bit early, so the slot won’t be available for play at any of the Rival powered online casinos for a few days.  It is scheduled to go live on December 1st.  The first of December is a Monday, so releasing the Pigskin Payout slot on the same day as Monday Night Football may not be a coincindence.

The slot machine itself is a five reel video style slot game.  The symbols you’ll find on the reels of this slot are right from the football playbook.  You’ll find football players, cheerleaders, a referee, a fan snack tray, and even a stadium.

The more powerful symbols include the Cheerleader.  In this slot, she’s WILD, and a Doubling-Wild at that.  Any winning combination that you create by using her will double in value.

The big draw to the Pigskin Payout slot machine, and what helps set it apart from the other 20 Payline video slots that are out there is the Bonus Round.  They call it the “Jackpot Can’t Lose” feature.

When free-spins are triggered, cheerleaders will fill the 1st and 5th reels making them completely wild. Every free spin is guaranteed to win, but with two reels completely wild on every spin, it’s even more likely to hit huge 5-icon wins.

So basically, when you finally land the Football Stadium Scatter symbols to unlock the free spins cycle, it is not a matter of hoping to land some winners, it’s a matter of how big they’re going to be

I like the idea of guaranteed rewards built into the free spin cycle of the slot machine.  I also noticed that the “return percentage” for this slot hovers at the 96% mark, at least according to the Davinci’s Gold recap of the machine [Hint: take the $22 free chip from Davinci's Gold and try the slot there.]

Another interesting twist listed on the slot description mentions that the sounds of the slot machine change completely during the Free Spins Cycle, so you can really tell that you’re in a bonus round, and not just spinning away as usual.  That’s a touch that I think will be neat.

Coins and Paylines:  I already mentioned that there are 20 paylines on the machine.  players can wager up to 10 coins on each of the paylines.  You’ll need to wager t least one coin on a payline for it to be active.

Coin sizes can vary, starting at one penny ($.01) per coin and going as high as $.25 - probably depending on the casino.

Overall: I like video slots, but I’m still a pretty simple person.  The 96% return percentage does it for me.  The guaranteed Win Bonus Round certainly doesn’t hurt.  The $22 free from Davinci’s Gold seals the deal.

It’s worth a try when it comes online!

Giant Thanksgiving Turkey (Slots Tournament)

author Posted by: admin on date Nov 18th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Tournaments, Vegas Technology

hey, don’t look at me, that’s what they’re calling the big Thanksgiving Slots Tournament taking place at English Harbour and Superslots.

Click Here To Play Online Slots at Super Slots Online Casino

Nov. 16th - Nov. 30th - $100,000 Slots Tournament

Well, the votes must be in. Players had a chance to choose which slot machine they wanted this tournament to be played on by voting earlier in the month.  I know that I cast my ballot.

Players chose the Reel Deal slot machine as the game they’d like to play for the course of the tournament.  Here are the numbers on the event:

Start Date: November 16th, 2008

Ends: November 30th at midnight

so, the tournament is currently underway!

There is a guaranteed $100,000 prize pool - which is HUGE.  This is not a freeroll, so there’s an entry fee to get into the tournament.  Each player involved is paying a $10 entry fee.

I have the tournament lobby open right now, and there are some interesting things going on.  Right now, there’s a total of 554 players in the tournament.  The “Giant Thanksgiving Turkey” tournament pays the top 3,875 places. Yep - 3,875 places.

So, everyone so far has paid $10, but they’re all getting their money back in prize money.  And so are the next several thousand contestants!!

So, even though it’s not really a freeroll, it sure acts like one!

The gameplay is simple.  Everyone starts with a $500 balance on the Reel Deal slot machine.  Play until you lose it, or rack up as many credits as you want.

If you lose your 500 credits, you are temporarily knocked out of the tournament.  But, you can “rebuy”, which means for another $10 you can have another 500 credits and try again.  So it’s not as though one bad run on a cold machine dooms you to failure in the event.

If you decide you’d like to enter, there are still machines open at either English Harbour or SuperSlots.

MegaSpin from Slotland

author Posted by: admin on date Nov 17th, 2008 | filed Filed under: Uncategorized

There is some news today from the Slotland front.  In case you haven’t heard of Slotland, they’ve been around forever, and they are a casino that makes their own games - so if you see it at Slotland, you won’t see it anywhere else.

They also set the machines to pay out at 98%, so I keep my eye on them.  Anyway, they plan on launching a new slot machinein the near future - the MegaSpin game.

The only information I was able to pick up was that it should be out sometime in the next week - so look for a review of the MegaSpin game from Slotland to be coming, oh, sometime within the next week ;)

In the meantime, the casino-wide progressive jackpot has reached the $81,900 mark.  With any luck it won’t be hit before they release the new MegaSpin machine, so I’ll have a chance at a nice holiday bonus.
