Q & A for Slot Machine Players
Slotland put together a survey so they can more fully understand the customers of their casino. That, is a good idea. And, since all of Slotland's customers are slot players, like you and I, I'm really interested in reading what they found out. I guess I just want to see if I'm part of the "norm" or not, not that it really matters.
Here are some of the questions that they posed were basics, are you a man or a woman for instance. But some of them were more far reaching, like what do you like most about slot machines, what's your biggest wager, and your biggest win?
Where do you play most often, and how often do you play max bet?
Well, since the results are in, we may as well have a look.
Two Out of Three People Enjoy Playing Slots Because . . .
They're easy to play. They aren't like Roulette or Craps where there are different betting rules that you need to learn. And you certainly don't have to perform at a table full people screaming, or worse yet, prepared to snare you with snide remarks.
The other third? They play because slots are one of the games where you can hit big, even if you only make a small wager. I used to tell people that in Blackjack, you have to put it on the table to win it. And that's a little bit of an overstatement, but it's close enough to true in my eyes.
If you want to win $500 on a hand in Blackjack, you'd better be putting a couple of hundred on the table as your wager. On a slot machine things are different. You can definitely win $10,000 on a $3 spin.
More than Half Surveyed Have Had Big Wins
And by big, I mean $1,000 or more. You can't go buy a new car with it, but when you're gambling for small stakes (and 78% said they don't wager large amounts) a four-figure win is a pretty nice haul!
Play Max Bet for the Jackpot
Well, they responded that they play max coins when "the time is right", which I'm taking to mean when they're playing Progressive Jackpot machines. Especially when the jackpot has gotten high.
Most players don't, however, play max coins as a habit. I think that's understandable, especially for players who like the multi-coin games with 20-some paylines.
Play From Home
There were several questions on the survey that asked player where they played, and almost no one confessed to playing while at work. the overwhelming majority of players play from the comfort of their own home when playing online.
And although many play only online (40%), most do travel to play slot machines at a casino.
Vegas Veterans?
Not really. Most of the players who participated in the slots survey never visited Sin City. Only one-third of those responding had visited the casinos in Vegas.
Are Slots For The Ladies?
It might surprise some to find out that when you have a room full of slot machine players, half will be men, and half will be women. While I certainly think that ladies enjoy playing the slots, it's certainly not a ladies only form of entertainment.
The last thing to mention about slot machine players that the surveyed addressed is that most of us are a little older. And by that I mean over 80% of us are in our 30's or beyond. So it seems that playing the slots is mature fun, which is fine. Let the kids have their Playstations.
I'm sure there will be more slot machine player surveys in the future, and I know that this one revealed some fun and interesting facts about slot players. Once again, I'd like to thank Slotland for putting the effort into this one.
